This brand image was created for Armor All Wax. Most of this image is created with a 3D software program.
The art director provided a rough idea that I had to interpret and execute. He wanted a bottle bursting through a speed limit sign. He provided a photo of the bottle and water droplets on a reflective black surface.
After some study, I suggested using 3D to create the drops flying through the air. Since the bottle was perfectly centered, I decided not to model it in 3D. I made a 3D sign and cut it into pieces in a pattern that would emphasize the bottle shape. After creating the sign, I made drops for the spray pattern. I created a black reflective surface and created 3D drops to lay across the surface. I used Photoshop to retouch and add some motion blur. The final image was rendered at poster size.
